ok... i think i'm done being angry.

from now on, i'll try posting happy posts. so... where do i start?

oklah... let me start with a classic riddle :-

i'm not expecting you to answer this.. hehehhh.. i first found this riddle when i was about 10 from reader's digest and of course i was like "WHAT??!!!" everytime my friends and i play teka-teki, i'll always ask them this. hehehhhe... love to see the expression on their face. but i tell you... i dont really like playing teka-teki coz most of the time, i couldnt guess the right answer - especially teka-teki yg mogunsamang.

past two days, was at Promenade Hotel, being the secretariat for International Symposium On E-Learning. symposium went well but had two BIG FIGHT with the boss (head of department), one in front of the reception desk and one at the symposium registration counter. and i'm not sorry! i dont care!

he was saying "YOU DONT TALK LIKE THAT TO ME! YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO TALK LIKE THAT TO ME! I CAN BECAUSE I'M THE BOSS!!!" go to hell laa... i can do whatever i want! as an individual, i'm free to voice out what i feel and what i think! what can he do? fire me? go ahead! see if he can! stupid boss! and then, keep asking me to calm down padahal he was the one who need to calm down. buduh!

i'm still mad! he already apologized but i dont know, i'm still mad at him!

actually it was all because of a few misunderstandings. and i dont like being yelled at. somebody yelled at me, i'll yell back, snap at me, i'll snap back! unless i'm the one who's wrong laa...

i'm not expecting all of you to understand this. this is just me, trying to get my anger out of my system.

and plus, my english sucks BIG time!

again, that title has nothing to do with this entry. sorry to disappoint you - again!

hmmm... i've noticed that i've been posting some angry post lately. i think it's mainly because i've been very busy, with the new semester starting, students registration, e-learning's registration, hv to organize the e-learning symposium... etc etc. hopefully, August will be a peaceful and relaxing month coz come september, we're gonna be bz again for convocation.

i'm on leave today. actually i hv an appointment with the ENT doctor and since i'm not sure how long it's gonna take, i figured i'd better take leave. my appointment was at 9:45 am and i arrived on the dot. since this is my first time there, i need to fill in a form, bla bla bla... the usual procedure lah. and guess what, i hv to wait exactly 1 hr before it's my turn! i mean, why bother calling arranging for appointment when you still have to wait forever for your turn! oops... calm down! calm down! u dont want to be angry today...

so, the doctor checked my throat and my nose and finally tell me the result that i've been dreading to hear - that my nonstop coughing is actually an inherited desease! whattt???!!!! so you're telling me that it's nothing serious? yup! nothing serious! or dear, i dont know what to feel, should i feel relieved? or still worry? or feel plain stupid? OMG! this is just silly.

ok, now may be you're wondering how can it be "inherited". y'see, i also have this skin irritation that wont go away and i've had it since i was like 10. lately, it had become worse so i went to see a skin specialist and i was told that it's nothing serious, that i'm just allergic to certain type of food. she also told me that it cannot be cured coz it is genetically inherited so what i should do is to try and avoid taking the type of food that might trigger this allergy. now, this nonstop coughing that's been torturing me for more than half a year is actually caused by my sinusitis/rhinitis which also happens to be genetically inherited. the mucus irritates the throat thus resulting in severe coughing. what bothers me the most was the fact that "genetically inherited" deseases are not curable. the doctor advised me not to take fried food (there goes my fried chicken), eggs (there goes my scrambled eggs), meat, fruits like oranges, durians, bla bla bla... i wasnt paying attention anymore. so? what else is there for me to eat? vege? NOOOO!!!

but the doctor did gave me some medicine to take. pills for my allergy, nasal spray and menthol crystal. i hv another appointment next month.

after that, we went to see Fantastic 4 and it was damn fantastic! great movie! i'm really bad at writing reviews so, just go and watch it yourself. but i have to say this - Jessica Alba is the new Angelina Jolie!

i didnt know that menthol crystal actually melt when heated. i left all my medicine inside the car while we were at the cinema and when i get back, i was shocked to find that the crystal has turned to emmmm water . after we switched on the air-cond in the car, it slowly turned solid again. what used to be like this



now has become this

i dont know why but i think "most" lecturers have this kind of attitude. they thought when they have PhDs, masters degree... they can do whatever they want regardless of what people like "us" thinks or rather, feels. I am the King and all of you are my slaves. my wish is your command! i'm sorry, i do know that some of my readers are lecturers but let this be sort of a reminder to you that we do have feelings and we can choose to not tolerate people like you. ooo... yes we cannn... even if you have *that* piece of scroll, it doesnt mean that you are now GOD and you can treat us like dirty sinners!

imagine this...

lecture halls, so big but only use Overhead Projecters to display transparencies. These lecturers (yang bijak pandai) complained that lecture halls is out of date, still using OHP when other universities are now using LCD projectors, lecture halls completely equipped with the latest cutting-edge equipments, smart-classrooms... bla bla bla... so, a small unit in UMS a.k.a Unit Media & Technology Pendidikan made an effort to upgrade those lecture rooms. and then, UMTP arrange a training on how to use these so called smart lecture rooms, invited all lecturers to attend but only a few showed up. so, when the new semester starts, poor helpdesk personel received hundreds of calls asking for technicians to come to particular lecture halls coz *kunun* the LCD is not working! technician went there just to switch on ONE switch button!

isnt that annoying???!!

some lecturers even called back angry bcos *kunun* technician hasnt arrived yet when actually technician was only late for two minutes! what's wrong with these lecturers? and mind you, there are only three technicians here and they have to attend to all 13 lecture halls.

i dont get it!

lecturers didnt attend training when we provided one but in the end, when they dont know how to use those advance equipment, they put the blame on us!

i just dont get it!

me : ada datang training tak hari tu?
lecturer : tak ada
me : kenapa tak datang? skarang bila tak tau guna baru menyusahkan orang! Padan Muka! Tak ada technician! Technician ada banyak kerja lain yang lagi penting!

hmmm... i wish i could say these to those lecturers!

there's a new idiot, the latest addition to the bunch of idiots at the HR Department. she's a new staff there, a product of UMS actually.

a few minutes ago, i received a phone call from the said idiot.

me : hello
idiot : ada kah tu orang Mimos yang angkat kami punya komputer tadi eh, monitor eh, apa tu... emmm ada kah?
me : technician yg mana satu aa?
idiot : yang chinese
me : tunggu sekejap aaa... sia cuba tanya dia

me : *Mimos Tech*, ko ada angkat apa2 kah dari pejabat *HR Dept* tadi?
*Mimos Tech* : ada, CPU

talk back to the idiot

me : ada, CPU kan?
idiot : ya. cuba ko tanya dia, dia betul2 bulih rescue kah tu CPU? sebab kalau tidak, kami mo panggil kawan kami yang pandai. itu data dalam tu pentinggggg betul...
me : (*dalam hati, "WTF???!!!"*) Ooo... bagus ko cakap sendiri sama dia lah aa... extension dia 1301.
idiot : ok.

so, she called the technician... they talked for a while, then after he hang up, i asked him.

me : bukan itu pc masih under kamu kah?
*Mimos Tech* : ya lah...
me : jadi, kenapa kunun dia mo pi pass sama kawan dia yang pandai?
*Mimos Tech* : ya kah??? macam mana dia mo save? itu hard disk memang rosak habis sudah. tidak boleh buat apa2 lagi. bad sector sana sini... mana dapat save lagi?? kawan dia berapa pandai pun mana boleh bikin. klu dia boleh bikin, saya pun mo blajar sama dia lah...
me : so, apa lah ko cakap sama dia?
*Mimos Tech* : sia bilang, memang tidak boleh bikin sudah tu.. orang berapa pandai pun memang tidak bulih bikin. TUHAN pun tidak boleh tolong sudah lerrr..

oklah... ya kan, yesterday i told you that i'll tell you about my cooking. i cooked Ayam Masak Kurma but before you guys go "oh wow!" i did mention that i'm a very very very bad cook didnt i? two words described my ayam - Total Disaster! Hangus bah my ayam... with the kuah2 all hangus! i cant cook everytime i tried, i failed! i dont know, i just dont have it in me! actually, i'm using the packet one, all the instructions were written at the back of the packet and i'm sure i did exactly what it says. and i've read the instructions for like a million times and my ayam still hangus! arghhh!!! i think, even if i take up cooking class, i still cant cook. i've said it before, i just dont have it in me my younger sister (13 yrs old) also knows that. i remember when i was at my hometown recently, we're having dinner prepared by my father (who happened to be a very good cook!), my sister goes "hmmm... sedapnyaaa... nombor 1 sedap masakan papa, nombor 2 titi, nombor 3 mama, nombor 4 kakak hihihi" and then, a few days later, my dad prepared a kerapu for dinner but it wasnt properly cooked. so, y'know laa... smelly a bit lah... so my sister goes "alamakkkk... papa nokoturun ranking, titi nombor 1, mama nombor 2, papa nombor 3, kakak nombor 4... hihihi" you see... even if my dad turun ranking, i'm still at the bottom of the list! *shake head* pity me... oklah... enough about the cooking thingy..

i think i am about to catch flu - again! with my daughter having flu, my hubby also just caught flu yesterday evening, it's no surprise. a few of my colleagues are also having flu. aiyaa... sore throat already!!! gerenti kena one!

oya kan, i think it's about time for me to write a proper "about me" page, now that my counter has recorded more than 1000 visitors. hmmm... i'll think about it. and i should write a disclaimer too... just in case

Sunday Afternoon

today was a very disappointing day.

ellone caught a very bad flu a few days ago and it has became worse, y'know, the mucus has turned to green/yellowish color. at 3:00 a.m, she woke up with blocked nose and of course she cried. i'd cry if i have blocked nose too. she's awake and she doesnt know that she had to breath through her mouth. there wasnt any problem while she's asleep. she keep inhaling through her nose "srottt...krkkk waaaaaaaaaaa!!! krrkkkk waaaaaa!!! srottt krrrkkk waaaa!!!" imagine that, at 3:00 a.m! finally, at 3:30, she manage to sleep... phewww!! and that's because i hv adjusted her position so that she's lying on her side instead of on her back. pity her!

and actually, last night, we planned to wake up early this morning coz i wanted to go to sugar bun (beach street) for the free ENT screening. because of the "ellone moment", we only woke up at 8:00, arrived at sugar bun at 9:30 only to learn that they have already closed the registration for the day! *huhu* i wanted to go to that screening so bad coz y'know what, i think there's something wrong with my throat. i've been coughing non-stop since January! i really need thatttt!!! *huhu again* does anybody know where can i find an ENT specialist in KK? i know i can always go to QEH but aiya... u know laaa... there are always a lot of people there! and i dont like waiting! they said i can also go to SMC but come on... that's like going to QEH! i think i prefer an ENT Clinic. so, anybody?

and oya, i forgot to mention, we parked at Centrepoint and walk on foot to sugar bun with jnr carrying ellone! no parking space nearby bah! well... it's not that far, only about 1km++. not far kepala otak ko laaa... i almost fainted! hmmmphhh... disappointing indeed!

and then, when we get home, clumsy me broke ellone's very-expensive-bought-from-Amway baby oil! *sigh*

ellone has developed some new talents. she has mastered the art of rolling over from her back to her front and vice-versa. *clap clap clap* and the art of gurgling which is a bit irritating coz she gurgles all the time it made feeding her very difficult! *grgggggrllll grrrgggllll* and i know she's very proud coz she did this with a very big grin on her face! oh and i've started feeding her cereal as soon as she was 4 months old. i've also started sending her to the daycare centre now that she's getting more active. her great-grandma also needs to rest - she's been taking care of three generations, it's time to get her a break.

the daycare centre i was talking about is at kingfisher park called Taska Bright Star. there are only five kids there with ellone being the youngest and they're being taken care off by three staff so... ok also lah kan? the eldest is almost two. all of the babies grew up there which means, this daycare centre must be good. a bit expensive tho... but i think it's worth it.

hmmm... a little comment on akademi fantasia. aidil was sent home last night. it's not that surprising, he had it coming. marsha was superb! singing while playing the piano, man!!! it's not easy , even kaer couldnt do it last year. she's good! and i love her dress... and felix... tsk tsk tsk... what happened?? the voice, the dance moves... everything seems so wrong! even the attitude is a bit offensive. if i happened to be one of the judges, i'd be offended, he's like "loyar buruk"-ing everybody. i'm too lazy to comment on the others. oya, and i still dont get the mawi thing. "Kesatuan Jawa Malaysia"?? *shake head* tsk tsk tsk... weirder and weirder...

oklah... i need to cook for tonight's dinner. FYI, i'm a very very very bad cook! tell u all about it later...

i was visiting flocy's blog and was reading her entry on her nephew who went to UTM. hmmm... UTM, what can i say about UTM... i spent 4 years there just to get my diploma. i could've done it in three years but, you all know laa... being away from my family, got distracted by so many emmm... "things", i finally made it. and i probably wouldnt hv made it if i havent met jnr. just imagine, from a one-pointer (yes that's how bad i am back then) to three-pointer after i met him. i mean, after we y'know emmm... ala... together-gether lah! hehehehh. perhaps if we've been together since i was in my first year, i'd probably passed with flying colors.

UTM, lots of fond memories there. most important of all, that's where i've met my other half *grin*. *hi honey*. yerrr... feel like crying oo right nowww....

do you believe in love at first sight? i do coz jnr is my love at first sight. i may not believe in first love but i do believe in love at first sight. i still remember when i first saw him. we were invited to a kaamatan party at a senior's house at taman sri skudai, the evening of May 30th 1997. so, we're sitting on a sofa and i still remember, i was sitting next to joyce. he was leaning against the wall near the sliding glass door, looking our way. i thought he was looking at me. he said he was but how do i know, maybe he was looking at willa *grin*. but then again, i think he really was looking at me coz after a few yrs later, he still can recall what blouse & pants i was wearing. and i remember, he was wearing a red singlet and a light-blue jeans yg kuyak2 :-D and i thought he was the most handsome guy of them all and the most handsome guy i've ever seen.. hehehehhhh... and i thought to myself, this is the guy i'm going to marry.

he did ask me out a few times but i dont know, maybe i was playing hard to get bah kunun tu. and i also thought that he wasnt serious but mainly it's because i heard that he had a girlfriend so, that's it. well... i secretly admired him tho. everytime i saw him, my heart begins to beat faster... adrenaline rush hehehehhh... yerrr... like schoolgirl punya crush bah... i dont know, maybe if i'm fair, i'll turn red everytime i saw him. since i learned that he 's got a girlfriend, i slowly (but painfully) tried to forget him, avoid him but i couldnt. just imagine, i even wrote his name while i was in lecture and i even wrote MRS Francis Vincent Ariffin Jr on my notes! back then, i didnt know that his "junior" is actually spelled as JNR and not JR. i still hv that piece of paper with me.

and then, there was this one time, when mell went back for the one week semester break, he left his pc and the printer with me so, apa lagi, i played around with his computer, and did a I Love Francis Vincent Ariffin Jnr graphic using Paint. I printed it (sorry mell, sia kasi abis ink printer ko) and put it in my desk drawer. later on, i went out with joyce and then lucia & corina came to my room to play with the computer. they were looking for something (i forgot what) and i'm sure they have opened the drawer. they must hv seen the I love jnr thingy... yerrr... so embarrassing oooo... dont know whether they still remember laa...

hmmm... i think that's all for now laa... may be there's going to be a part II of this but emm... we'll see...
