what do u think of my new blogskin?

well, i know it loads very very very slow and those of u using mozilla, the look is a bit different from IE. it doesnt turn out the way i want it to be - especially the scrollbars on my sidebar and the main content. since i oredi spent so much time in editing the design (pls note, this is not my design, i curi it from somewhere else), i tot i shd at least publish it for may be a day or two. lagi pun, i'm kinda bored oredi with my current template. tired of seeing pink everyday.



looks like i hv to go skin hunting again...

My New Daily Morning Prayer

from today onwards, i'm going to say this prayer every morning. having an IDIOT boss can be quite challenging.

Lost in translation

this morning, our ellone woke us up at 6.00 in the morning with her singing. Guess what she sang? "I love daddy! I love daddy!" (Barney's I love you, you love me's tune) i think she's inherited the singing gene from my papa and i'm not surprised coz she's been singing since she's only two weeks old . she surprised me back then, i was singing Mary Had A Little Lamb and she actually hummed along with me!

later, we went to have breakfast at this Wan Wan Seafood Restaurant. this was only my 2nd time going there coz i dont eat seafood that much, y'know, with my allergy and all... but since today is Good Friday and we're not to eat meat on this day, we went there lah... but if you like tomyams, then trust me, you're going to love the tomyam here... the yummiest i've tasted so far.

so after breakfast, we go back home and i continue doing my assignment. i was doing an assignment for our world literature class where we hv to study and analyse a novel of our own choice. so, i chose Amy Tan's The Kitchen God's Wife and since i'm so lazy, i just search the internet for it's study guide. manage to find a few but all are written in english. our assignment has to be done in malay so... gosh! hv to translate lah... now i really hate translating and i think i hv an entry somewhere mentioning why i hate translating english to malay. oya, i mentioned it in this post.

one of my classmates gave me a link to a website providing english-malay translation. she did mention that the translation is not that accurate but i tot, at least it will save me some time. but really, i didnt really expect it to be so terrible so i wasnt quite prepared to see the stuff i'm about to show you.

i entered this paragraph :

aiya... want to blog more about my recent "mini get-away" to nexus karambunai but i guess that will have to wait until i'm done with my assignments.

gosh! feels like i'm forever doing assignments ooo...

had just presented one database assignment just now. nothing complicated, just a simple online dictionary done using php and mysql. i'd love to publish it online but well, i sort of "borrowed" the design from Mandisa's website so, i dont think it's appropriate for me to publish it just yet.

i shouldnt be blogging la... need to finish 2 assignments, both due this sunday!

i was very very very bz these past few weeks, a lot of tests, midterm exams, quizzes, assignments, etc.

actually i hv a few stories to tell... emm... very few actually, only abt 3 stories.

1. About Photographing Your Food

Last Friday, we had lunch at Centrepoint. there's this one malay restaurant called Faezah, i think most of you know this place. so we had lunch there and i had rice + omelette + some pickled mangoes + 4 pcs of nuggets and guess how much it costs? F*****g 5 ringgit! hahhhh???? so, i took out my camera and snap a pic of the food.



this, tuan2 dan puan2, is what you can get with RM5 nowadays

so, when we're abt to pay, suddenly one girl, i think she's one of the waitress, came to our table and we had a little conversation that goes something like this :

waitress : emmm... macam mana makanan tadi? ok? (asking politely with a very very sweet sounding voice)
jnr : *puzzled* hah? ok, ok...
waitress : emm... ada masalah kah dengan makanan tadi?
jnr & mimi : *puzzled x 2* eh, teda...
waitress : semua ok? tiada masalah
jnr : *still puzzled* ya, semua ok
waitress : oo... ok, terima kasih aaa...

i was also a bit puzzled but i guess they saw me photographing the food. perhaps they thought there's something wrong with it that i'm going to report them to some consumers association or something... on second thought, maybe i should do that kan?

2. My Database Lecturer

I like my database lecturer. she's very lenient. we're supposed to present and submit our database project like three weeks ago but since most of us hvnt finished the project yet, she agreed to extend the presentation date for another 2 weeks. so, we presented last saturday, 1st April. we're the last group to present on that day and then after we're done :

Lecturer : Ada lagi yg nak present? tak ada? ok, kita adakan Pop Kuiz. Semua sediakan kertas, saya baca soalan. Tak boleh bincang, tak boleh tengok nota!

not even one of us has prepared for a quiz. and the lecturer told us that this pop quiz is worth 10% from our total marks i didnt even bring blank papers on that day so have to ask my classmate to give me one.

classmate1 : puan, kasi yang senang2 laa...
Lecturer : hah? senang2? *giggle*
classmate2 : puan, kasi macam "apa itu database" laa...
Lecturer : apa itu database? *giggle* tak boleh lah...

and then when everyone has taken their seats,

Lecturer : ok... semua dah ready?

wah... so we all so serious already, everyone was so quiet waiting for the lecturer to read the questions.

Lecturer : sebenarnya, saya cuma nak april fool kamu saja *giggle again*
class : CHEHHHHHHH!!!!

3. My Ellone

my ellone can talk already...

she can already say mummy, daddy, mama, papa, nina (jnr's grandmother), uncle (she pronounce as ake), aunty (she pronounce as ati), jiejie cherry (she pronounce as cheche heily) and kakak (the maid).

she also can already say :

mo makan / mo makan bubu (bubur)
mo nenen / drink water (she pronounce as 'dink ateh')
makan ubat
sakit / sakit kepala
mo o'oi
throw/buang
go down
where daddy / where mummy
there
atik = gymnastic
dont want (she pronounce as 'dowan')

emm... that's about the latest vocabs she's learnt la... i think i've already mentioned some of them in my previous entries.

she also knows where her nose is, her 'kepala' (she doesnt understand 'head' yet), her stomach and even her bellybutton.

she knows how to show her teeth...

i think she's learnt quite a lot! she's not a baby anymore...

and she really loves learning ABC. you know there's this one website called starfall where u can teach ur kids ABC, she really loves it! thanks mrB for promoting the website. and now, she the computer is hers. i cannot even do my work when she's around. cannot even play games. she'll be like "mummy... apple! apple!" and pointing at the computer.



so far, she can only remember A-G. she can even sing ABC song but up to G only la... after that, gibberish but the melody is still correct.

oh... oh... and she loves to sing. now, she can sing twinkle twinkle little star, Watermelon & papaya, ABC song, Good Bye Teacher & one kadazan kid's song...

i'm so proud of her...

but recently, she developed a mild chicken pox-like rash. she has just been vaccinated (for chicken pox) on March 10 and a few days later, the red dots appeared. i was quite worried at first but i found in the internet that...

It is a very well tolerated vaccine, with few side effects. The most common side effects seen are fever and a mild chicken pox-like rash, sometimes limited to the site of injection.

we brought her to the doctor and he (the doctor) did confirm that it is the side effect of the vaccine. the doctor gave some antibiotics and hopefully, the rash will go away soon. anyway, apart from all that, she's the same active and naughty little toddler that she is...



look at her hand and her face... kesian kannn... gatal lagi tu... she keep scratching them lagi...
