New e-mail service

not only for me, but for all user in my workplace...

we were using Lotus Domino for e-mail i think for the last 6-8 yrs and since there was no real expert on Domino and since the management decided not to upgrade anymore, it has been giving us a lot of headache lately... errors here and there... lagi pun the server doesnt hv the capacity to accomodate all users... ntah brp saja size dia tu... until there was this one time, i think around June or July, we hv to KIV all the new applications coz the server has reached 100% and cannot accept new users anymore...

imagine (almost) semua org bijak pandai tu, very not understanding... tau marah saja... why my email account is not created yet.. why cannot receive new email... why cannot send email... why i got overquota message *duh*... why dis why dat... and guess what? of all this bijak pandai ppl, yg paling kuat komplen is the same person who has 21000++ emails in his/her inbox! Ngeri ooo kan? 21000 emails???!!! my goodness!!! no wonder space server penuh!

pastu ada pula yg also kuat komplen, pun tidak pandai delete email juga! Segala announcement yang dihantar... after read delete la kalau tidak berkenaan! tak kan la itu pun mo balik2 remind? common sense bah tu! all the spam mails, for the love of God! delete lah! i know the previous email service has many flaws... anti-spam pun tidak jalan... eh, maybe teda anti-spam, anti-virus saja, itu pun tidak jalan but inisiatif sendiri lah bah... delete! sometimes announcement sampai 500 email, spam sampai ribu2... mcm manalah e-mail tidak penuh? and then afterwards call us and then marah2 mo menunjukkan kekuasaan kunun... mentang2lah kami ni kuli batak saja compared to you yg mcm the high almighty... padahal salah sendiri... tidak malu!

and like i've said before... tidak semestinya if you hv a few piece of scrolls that adds a few more words to your given name doesn't mean you have to treat us like dirt! we, yg langsung teda apa2 ni pun deserve to be given even the slightest respect! it's not our fault your mailbox is full... salah kami ka? now i'm shouting to the whole wide world... IS IT MY FAULT THAT SOMEONE ELSE'S MAILBOX IS FULL??? I'm not the one sending spam mails... maka maybe kamu tu yang pigi visit website mcm2 pastu pigi taru e-mail sana sini, pastu bila dpt spam, bising pula! i tot u asked for it? i'm not the one who doesn't delete all unwanted emails! heiyerrrr!!! be responsible lah sikit!

lepas tu ada pula yang marah-marah sebab space kecil. meaning, quota sikit... pastu mo banding2 sama yahoo & gmail. "yahoo / gmail bagi unlimited..." ini lagi golongan yg pun tiada common sense. apa? ko ingat tempat ko kerja ni setanding dengan Google Inc.? Setaraf sama Yahoo Inc.? allow me to enlighten you aa... Google Inc. / Yahoo Inc. is like a giant mammoth's father and the place where we work is like baby mite(hama)... so, a mammoth's father can afford to have a big house but, a baby hama can't. got it? nanti masih lagi itu baby hama brabis bikin2 a house big enough for a mammoth, mati pula dia kelaparan... atau pun, sampai dia mati pun rumah dia x siap... worst still, baru siap sikit dinding, kena tiup angin, mati baby hama dihempap dinding rumah sendiri... kesiannn deh lo...

so, selepas bersusah payah kena marah tiap2 hari.... akhirnya tercapailah hajat kami untuk menukar email system baru... dapatlah server with 1TB space... and that's like a house big enough for a queen ant... so, today (Thursday), we officially sort of "launch" the new system la... and last Monday, i hv sent an announcement through e-mail announcing the launching of this new email... and saya sudah bersusah-payah mengarang 9 perenggan in point form, dengan bahasa yg simple dan mudah difahami, dilengkapi dengan Malay and English Version... i actually spent 2 days to compose that, making sure i didnt miss any important points... from the introduction of the new e-mail system, when can we start to use it, what will happen to the old e-mails in the old server, what are the user's responsibilities, most importantly how to login and how to change password, the quota reminder as well as who to refer to if there is any problem... to my disappointment, almost all users still call asking about all the things i've already explained in my e-mail. jerih payahku langsung tidak dihargai!!!

contoh situasi

caller 1 : saya tidak dapat login email. dia cakap authentication failed padahal saya tak ada tukar password pun. (problem : tidak baca announcement)

caller 2 : macam mana mo login e-mail baru tu? (problem : tidak baca e-mail)

caller 3 : (bertanya secara panik) password? (problem : tidak baca e-mail)

caller 4 : apa jadi sama e-mail kita? (problem : tidak baca e-mail)

caller 5 : jadi? email lama mcm mana la? (problem : tidak baca e-mail)

caller 6 : mcm mana la mo tukar password? (problem : tidak baca e-mail)

caller 7-100 : a combination of 1 or 2 or 3 or all of the above... (problem : TIDAK BACA EMAIL)

5. Semua pengguna yang mempunyai akaun email di server lama akan mendapat akaun email di server baru secara automatik. Tiada perubahan pada nama pengguna (username), walaubagaimana pun, anda telah diberikan kata laluan (password) sementara. Kata laluan (password) sementara anda adalah sama dengan nama pengguna (username) anda.

Contoh :
Username : ahmad1979
Password : ahmad1979

6. Sila tukar kata laluan anda sebaik sahaja anda mula menggunakan email baru ini. Kata laluan boleh ditukar dengan menekan menu Option > Global > Change Password.

7. Server email yang baru ini dilengkapi dengan perisian anti-virus dan anti-spam. Ia juga dilengkapi dengan system kuota. Oleh itu, pengguna perlu menyelenggara mailbox masing-masing agar inbox sentiasa dapat menerima email yang baru. (Hapus email yang tidak dikehendaki / muat turun untuk simpan)


apa bah yg tidak clear???

i thought i used all simple words? atau pun telampau simple sampai susah mo faham? atau tidak pandai baca bahasa melayu sebab dulu belajar di oversea, tau english saja. ok, ada english version.

5. Existing UMS webmail users will automatically receive new email accounts in the new server. There will no change to the usernames; however, a temporary password will be given. The temporary password is identical to the username.

Example :
username : ahmad1979
password : ahmad1979

6. Please change the temporary password immediately upon successful login. Password can be changed by clicking menu Option > Global > Change Password.

7. The new email server is equipped with anti-virus and anti-spam software. It is also equipped with a quota system. Therefore, the users are required to maintain their respective mailbox so that it will always be able to receive new emails. (Delete unwanted mails / download to back up)


siap bagi contoh lagi bah... apa masalah????

ooo... i know... u didnt receive the mail bcos some ppl are taking too much space sampai org lain teda space... ok, faham... faham...

now, moral of the story : pandai-pandai lah guna e-mail and janganlah ingat kami ni org2 bawahan bolehlah diteriak, dimarah2, dipijak2... kami juga manusia biasa... punya hati dan punya perasaan.... AHAKSSSS!!!! kami sudah buat yang terbaik (stail AF)... we have done our best to provide convenience to everybody, we know it's not perfect but we had certainly try... can you ppl show at least a tiny glimpse of appreciation? bukanlah kami minta anugerah ka apa but at least try and help us to maintain your own mailbox... that is already an act of appreciation... please do not make our job harder than it already is...

sometimes... ppl shout at us (on the phone la..) but still, we answer with a voice as sweet as candy, with a tone like that of an angel but trust me, a day will come when i finally failed to see u as a fully loaded garbage truck. don't blame me if i scream back at you until all your earwax melt!

but then again, not all the bijak pandai ppl have attitude problems... there are also a few kind soul who are very understanding, very supportive and very responsible... Thank GOD for ppl like these and may you have only the best this world has to offer and may your kindness be richly rewarded, be returned to you in many wonderful ways and be repaid thousands times over!

ehehehe saya pun tia baca tu email... tp saya bukan golongan cerdik pandai yang banyak complain... sia diam diam ja... lagi pun saya tia tgk sangat bah tu webmail... hehehe... mana sia pakai kecuali untuk official business contohnya kalau mau contact kamurang buat announcement... jadi saya juga termasuk dalam golongan yg inda pandai delete email... pemalas. tp sekali saya delete smua sia delete... penting ka tidak kah... semua gone...

Know how u feel, coz i feel the same too...when people yang kononnya boss and cerdik pandai... tau marah ja... but never realize their mistake... or must i say... boss is owez rite atau client is owez rite... paham paham... really paham that kind 'over the top' attitude...

i know exactly how you feel.. orang2 yang "bijak pandai ni" kononnya tau semua.. tapi kadang2 common sense punya hal pun ndak tau.. yang tidak2 bah kena minta.. benda2 ndak logik kena request.. as if we're the one yg causing all their problem.. pastu sebab we're the ones yg dealing with the computers, mcm semua masalah pun kita buli kasi settle with just a few click here and there.. hah! kalau kita ni fairy mungkin la kan? bikin gerigitan jugak.. lui jugak bah drg tu tapi ndak mo mengaku.. :P
