"You know how when you were a little kid and you believed in fairy tales, that fantasy of what your life would be, white dress, prince charming who would carry you away to a castle on a hill. You would lie in bed at night and close your eyes and you had complete and utter faith. Santa Claus, the Tooth Fairy, Prince Charming, they were so close you could taste them, but eventually you grow up, one day you open your eyes and the fairy tale disappears. Most people turn to the things and people they can trust. But the thing is its hard to let go of that fairy tale entirely cause almost everyone has that smallest bit of hope, of faith, that one day they will open their eyes and it will come true."
~ Meredith Grey, Grey's Anatomy

Sodium Chloride
I've heard this joke b4, but dont really know if it's true. saw this again in the mailbox, sent by my niece so... i thought i'd better share it with you.
This incident happened to a very well-known DJ, perhaps a few years back when she was still working for Radio 4. Bear in mind, i'm not really sure if this is true so, name is withdrawn to protect anything that needs to be protected.
A DJ on Radio 4 asked listeners on her radio program to call to answer trivia questions. The first caller to give the correct answer would get a prize from the sponsor. She asked: "Can anyone out there tell me the household name of Sodium Chloride" A caller who is a housewife called up eager to answer the question. Not knowing the answer to the question, she asked the DJ for a clue. "Something you put on your husbands eggs in the morning." she said. The lady confidently said : "Talcum powder". The DJ did not return to the air until after a few songs!

Mimi & Facebook
ok... a few weeks ago, i visited an acquaintance's blog which i havent visited for years... and he mentioned Facebook in his entry for that day, also mentioned that it is waaaayyyy cooler than Friendster *sorry friendster* so, went to check on facebook's website but the main page is not that interesting, so i didnt sign-up.
then, a few days later, joyce mentioned facebook again, asking me whether i've heard of it. told me that she had already signed-up and even stay up til late just to customize her page, add applications and so on. so, i was like... ok, there must be something great about this site. so, i signed-up myself and automatically "ter-invite" all those ppl in my gmail. even those yg dari lelong.com pun ter-invite juga.
but then again... i still dont know my way around facebook... i dont know what to add... dont know what to do next... was bitten by "joyce the vampire" and become a vampire myself. tried to "bite" other ppl, but nobody has agreed to be bitten yet
maybe ada sudah, but i dunno how to check
ya, i know... i sound stoopid.
and today, i'm supposed to go to class but diserang penyakit malas... decided to stay home. lagipun, c jnr oso dont hv enough sleep for the past few days, so i let him sleep and i take care of the kids. baby x and ellone (and their daddy) are now asleep... finally i had some free time for myself.
gave facebook another try... added a few application including an aquarium & a graveyard. i had just found out that i have money in facebook
. had 400 coins so i bought myself 3 cute fishes (25 coins each) and a starfish (25 coins) - well, actually i "send" myself fish... dunno whether that's the correct way to do it - but heyy... who cares... all that matter is now, i have 3 fishy-fishy and a starfish in my fishtank!
wanted to add more fish but no moneyyyy... so you out there, sign-up for facebook now and give me some fish! show me the fishyyyy...
and to those of you who already join, add me
muka tidak malu mem-promote diri sendiri ni...
my graveyard is still empty... wanted to add some zombies and ghosts but also no moneyyy... bah, be generous u guys... send me some ghosts as well... and if you're more generous, maybe you can send me those items in my wishlist too...

Missing Girl Found (???)
the girl that has gone missing for a month has been found - murdered - brutally.
what kind of monster could have done this?? the killer should be hanged! no, the killer should be tortured painfully until that monster begs for death!!! and when that monster finally begs for death, castrate it and burn it in public, complete with live tv coverage!
but then again, is the body found in that gym bag really belongs to the missing girl? could she still be missing?or maybe they just wanted the case to be closed
found out that the girl's uncle has set up a blog in search of her and the story in this particular entry is a wee bit different from what has been broadcasted over the media for the last 24 hrs.
hmmmmm....

The Law of the Garbage Trucks
was blog-hopping and found this...
The Law of the Garbage Trucks
A good philosophy, worth trying
The Law of the Garbage Trucks
How often do you let other people's nonsense change your mood? Do you let a bad driver, rude waiter, curt boss, or an insensitive employee ruin your day?
Unless you're the Terminator, for an instant you're probably setback on your heels. However, the mark of a successful person is how quickly she can get back her focus on what's important.
I learned it in the back of a Harare City taxi cab. Here's whathappened. I hopped in a taxi and we took off for Westgate .We were driving when all of a sudden a black car jumped out of a parking space right in front of us. My taxi driver slammed on his breaks, skidded, and missed the other car's back end by just inches!
Here's what happened next. The driver of the other car, the guy who almost caused a big accident, whipped his head around and he started yelling bad words at us. How do I know? Ask any Zimbabwean, some wordsin Harare come with a special face.
Now, here's what blew me away. My taxi driver just smiled and waved at the guy. And I mean, he was friendly. So, I said, "Why did you justdo that? This guy almost ruined your car and sent us to the hospital!"
And this is when my taxi driver told me what I now call, "The Law of the Garbage Truck."
Many people are like garbage trucks. They run around full ofgarbage, full of frustration, full of anger, and full of disappointment. As their garbage piles up, they need a place to dump it. And if you letthem, they'll dump it on you. When someonewants to dump on you, don't take it personally. You just smile, wave, wish them well, and move on. You'll be happy you did. I guarantee it.
So this was it: The "Law of the Garbage Truck." I started thinking, how often do I let Garbage Trucks run right over me? And how often do Itake their garbage and spread it to other people: at work, at home, onthe streets? It was that day I said, "I'm not going to do it anymore."
I began to see garbage trucks. Like in the movie "The Sixth Sense,"the little boy said, "I see Dead People." Well now "I see GarbageTrucks."I see the loadthey're carrying. I see them coming to drop it off. And like my Taxi Driver, I don't make it a personal thing; I just smile, wave, wish themwell, and I move on.
One of my favourite Football players of all times, Ronaldino, doesthis every day on the football field. With a smile he always jumps up as quickly as he hits the ground after being tackled. He never dwells on ahit. Ronaldino is always ready to make the next play his best. Goodleaders know they have to be ready for their next meeting. Good parents know that they have to welcome their children home from school with hugsand kisses.
Leaders and parents know that they have to be fully present, and attheir best for the people they care about.
The bottom line is that successful people do not let Garbage Truckstake over their day.
What about you? What would happen in your life, starting today, if you let more garbage trucks pass you by? You'll be happier. I guarantee it.
ok, so my "immediate boss" is now a garbage truck
last friday, she sent us (all the "supposedly technical" staff of my dept) an email, INVITING us to attend a new "simple" system briefing. Since i was on "cuti-cuti Malaysia" last friday, i only saw the e-mail yesterday, about 3 minutes before the briefing starts. i decided not to go because
1. INVITATION only maaa... as an invited person, u hv the right to decline. E.g : when someone sent u a wedding INVITATION, u hv a choice whether to go or not to go. it's not like someone would die if u dont attend.
2. it is just a simple system, and if u're stoopid enough and doesnt really know how to use it, u can always ask around. plus, the programmer of the system sits right in front and doesnt really hv much to do u can ask him anytime.
and now, she wants a show-cause letter. GREAT!!!
anyway... decided to IGNORE...
or perhaps i can ask for a show-cause letter on why she didnt attend my wedding when i have already wasted my RM1.80 INVITATION card on her.
oh but i guess i just wave my hand *wave hand* and smile
coz SHE'S JUST ANOTHER FULLY LOADED GARBAGE TRUCK!
