Akademi Fantasia & Other Stuff

just finished watching akademi fantasia. i missed last week's concert coz i went to see star wars : revenge of the sith - which was a great movie! but i know marsha and mawi were back in.

i thought marsha's voice was pretty good but... tonight, i've just realize that her voice wasnt strong enough. much too soft i'm afraid. there were a few times when her voice cant be heard at all bcos of the loud music. but the voice is unique tho. i dont know whether she'll be able to sing songs of other genres. o... but she's very attractive and sexy and flirty too. a seductress tonight :-D

felix...emmm... at last, he has already warmed up and jeng jeng jeng... keluar sudah tanduk & taring dia. jgn2 got ekor lagi di blakang. hehehe... this guy is actually funny, loyar buruk kama... "kalau bapa sia inda trima, bapa mertua mesti trima" hahahahhhahhh... but i cant stand the wiggling! he's not dancing, he wiggles! but i think some people find it cute, i dont by the way! hopefully, next week he'll improve his dancing skills.

and i really want to comment on their clothes/attire/outfit! OMG!!! what's that worn by amy and eliza???!!! we can actually now open our fugly website malaysian version. who dress them like that??? wait aaa... i'm trying to see if there's already a screenshot on tonight's concert. i mean, OMG!!! pity them... do they actually thought they look cool in that outfit(s)? macam kuih lapis ooo... plain ridiculous! what happened to the image consultant? or maybe they (image consultant) did this on purpose... OH MY GOD!!! hmmm no photos available yet! i'll post it as soon as i found one. the style looks almost like this

but oh come onnn... this is gwen stefani! and plus, she's orang putih so it's doesn't really look weird on her. well, may be a bit but believe me, it's just wrong for malaysians to wear this. i mean, if you're tall and fair and attractive and georgous bla bla bla... then maybe it doesnt matter la. tapi ini??? pleasssssssse laaahhh...

i'd be really worried if they decided to wear this one of these days

great movie! highly recommended! angelina jolie was always georgous as ever and brad pitt... emmm i think he looked a bit old in this movie, y'know, lots of wrinkles... my personal opinion, he only looked great in Meet Joe Black! Looked boyish in that movie. i wanted to write a review on Tuan & Puan Smith *lol* but emm... i'm not that good in writing reviews... just go and see for yourself lah.

last wednesday we also went to watch madagascar. i brought ellone along and she seems to be loving it. didnt cry at all in spite of all the loud sound effects... good girl! looks like after this i can already bring her with me to the cinema... with all the great movies coming soon - batman : the beginning, fantastic four, war of the world, harry potter and the computer animated one (forgot the title) by the creator of chicken run etc etc i wouldnt wanna miss them!

on hiatus for quite some time. sorry about that. i was away and then when i get back, still couldnt update coz there's a problem with the streamyx line at home. keep getting disconnected every 3 minutes. i've scanned my pc for viruses and spywares hundred thousands of times and none found... *sigh* what am i to do... k*ennysia said he felt handycapped without the internet and that's exactly how i felt everytime i go home. i feel like i'm totally disconnected from the outside world! cant even pay my bills, view the latest lottery result... CANT BLOG *sigh* checked with TM (Telekom), they directed us to streamyx, called streamyx, being referred back to TM. checked with TM again and they said "ooo... ada masalah sama tu kabel besar" Huh??!!! what the hell is a kabel besar??? and we'll be still paying RM88 at the end of this month!! damn!

actually i dont really like blogging from my office coz there'll always be a bzbody sneaking behind my back and reading all the things i'm currently typing. and i hate that! but since today everyone seems to be minding their own business.. so here i am!

my trip to my hometown was ok... there's nothing interesting to blog about. gained 2kg while i'm back there coz there's nothing to do except sleep and eat.

the annoying grandmother
the annoying grandmother keeps pissing my mom off. this grandmother i'm talking about is my dad's mother and she's very old, i think she's 90+ already and cant even think/talk straight anymore. nyanyuk already bah. forgetful some more. she likes to tell stories about her younger days, telling the same stories over and over again and 95% of the people in her story had already died. and she always chose to tell her story when we're watching tv so we just ignored her. we have already heard the stories anyway.

my youngest brother has received his first holy communion on 29th May and on the same day, he's got the 3rd placing for the Bintang Kecil singing competition.

our 1st wedding anniversary
i totally forgot about our anniversary. jnr gave me a card and the DKNY Be Delicious perfume.



can u believe it, i even asked him what's the occasion and he said "tiada. saja..." only when i opened the card did i remember that it's our anniversary! bad mimi!!! aiya... how can i forgot my own wedding anniversary.

ermmm... i think enough updates for today. suddenly i feel so lazy to type. laterlah...

just finished watching akademi fantasia prelude concert. aiyaaaa... pity the girl from tamparuli - Marsha Milan Londoh. a very bad timing to hv a sore throat! poor girl! it's okay, she can always come back next year and i'm sure, with the voice she has, she'll definitely do well. Afundi Marsha 2006!



oh, and the guy from kota belud, my god... the voice!!! he sang emmm... what's the title of the song already??? is it cinta seorang teman? mr. adnan abu hassan composed that song for bob, one of the AF 2 finalist. ok, back to Felix Agus, this guy can definitely sing! like aznil said "dia menyanyikan lagu ini tanpa sebarang kemut di mukanya"! i'm sure he will go far in this competition. Afundi Felix!

Farewell Old Template

oya, about the "unfortunate event" i was talking about earlier.

last night, we went to Tg. Aru for its Nasi Pattaya. Stall No. 5 used to hv the best and the "sedap-est" and the "original-est" Nasi Pattaya in KK. by original, i mean the rice was really wrapped in the egg. not the egg-on-top-of-the-rice pattaya. but too bad, when we get there, found out that the stall was now managed by different people. so, since we're already there, we just ordered lah. it was about 8:15 pm when we finished eating, we decided to go to CP. so, we get in the car, jnr reversed and stopped (keyword here is "stopped") and as he was about to switch to the "Drive" gear (our car is automatic-geared), "PRRRAKKK!!!" (hehehhe... that's the sound i heard)... i was blur for a second and then i go "Darling, u go langgar org lain punya krita?" "No, tu org yg langgar we" (pardon the language. that is actually our *private* language)

since we're like blocking the way, jnr move the car forward a bit and then went out to see the kancil which banged our car which is driven by a lady with a "P" sticker on her car. later, i was told that the lady was asking us to pay and that she had already called the traffic police which happened to be a friend of hers.

what??? she was the one who banged our car and she wanted us to pay???

after about an hour, the police arrived and since he was their friend, of course we're the one who became the guilty party. they asked for 200 bucks but we only had 150 so, they took it and then kah kunun salam2. yikes!! i dunno, until "Allah" all tekeluar... hmphhhh!!! there goes our 150 :-( maka the car was dented a bit only... :-P luckily last night we were using the 15 yr old Range Rover so, there was not even a scratch on our car.

but really... life is unfair! i cant believe she got away with that. i think she didnt even look at the rear-view mirror before she reversed. otherwise, she should have seen our car. i was still wondering, besar gedabak bah our car that... how come she said she didnt see??? i hv taken some pic but they're quite dark. see for yourself lah...







about the traffic police, i dont even want to comment anything. it's all about acquaintances, all about connections...

My (Current) Blog Template and TGIF

I love this layout (i'm currently using) coz that girl in the background image looks like me... hehehehhhehehhh... but i dont think i'll be using this for long. i've been using it for two days now and you see for yourself lah... so many errors especially when u use IE :-( and comments section is also not working... *huhuuuu*. oh... and i also couldnt hide the blogger banner :-( whyyy??? why oh whyyyy??? :-( guess i'll just hv to look for a new layout - again.



Thank God It's Friday!

Yayyy!!! third saturday tomorrow so... off day! monday is also going to be a holiday coz wesak falls on sunday. double yay!!! We're going to hv a long lunch break today... wonder what am i going to do. jnr told me yesterday that maybe he cant go out to lunch with me today coz he's got a meeting at 9:30 a.m and from my past experience, they never hv a short meeting.

i'll be on leave from the 24th May for two weeks, not bcos of the harvest festival but bcos jnr's grandmother will be going to Israel and i hv to take care of Ellone lah. i'll be spending my leave at my hometown (Tambunan), so that Ellone can get to know my side of the family. My mom misses her so much. it's too bad i cant go back that often. my sister and my brothers are so excited they cant wait for their niece to arrive. they called her E.V - luckily not E.T hehehehehheh...

------ After Lunch -------

jnr's meeting finished early so we went to lunch together. at first, we were thinking of having lunch at kingfisher but when we get there, we just couldnt decide where to eat, plus, so hard to find a parking space. jnr suggested (jokingly) that we'd better go to Rasa Ria but i dont want to coz i've come to know that the (stupid) people from the human resource dept are currently having some kind of retreat over at that place. i suggested nexus and jnr said "oklah" *grin* triple yay!!! so we went there... had a buffet lunch... not so many choices tho. i wanted to take pictures of the food i had with my digital camera but hishhh malulah... so many orang putih some more... i did take some photo of my food but using my phone. i'll upload them later tonight. looks yummy but the taste is not as good as the look. i think the cook must've never heard of the word "marinate" before. jnr's a member of the nexus elite club so, we had 50% off.

while we're still enjoying our food, a guy with two young ladies came and were ushered to the table next to us. one of the ladies looks familiar and i think i've seen her in one of the weddings that we attended before. the guy also looks quite familiar but i wasnt really sure where hv i seen him. suddenly jnr asked me "itu lelaki bah, bukan yg sana cd keningau tu kah?", hah? wait a minute... OYA KANNNNNNN!!!!! OMG!!! ya woooo... that's the guy from the (keningau) p*rn cd... :-P hehehahahhehehhhha OMG!!! jnr asked me to secretly take his pic and put it in my blog but ewwww!!! i'm not going taking a p*rn star photo! Yewwww!!! OMG! OMG! i keep asking jnr "are u sure it's him?"."bah... muka lo**ut kan, sinang mo ingat bah" yewwwww!!!! :-P

bah, oklah... i need to get back to work.

gary told us that huat ming is having a warehouse sale and they're selling 30 units of dvd player for rm100 only. wah... berebut org mo beli... some people even called the police... hehehehhh.... bah, anybody wants to buy electrical goods... go huat ming lah...

the idiots are still stupid

you all know what? the idiots are still being idiots. i thought yesterday we've made it very clear that the new ip they're using havent been activated yet - this morning they called again complaining about the exact same thing. same people, same thing... what's wrong with these people anyway??? y'know, it felt like dejavoo - having to explain the whole thing all over again. their stupidity is even getting worst. we've just found out that the "guy" whom yesterday i referred to as

"the even more stupid guy to talk to us. kah kunun mcm that guy is the smartest person in the whole universe"

has changed the pc configuration for all (i mean ALL) the staff in that department and now, each personel has lost the administrator privilege to their own pc. you get what i'm saying? now, they cant even do simple things like changing ip(s) or installing new softwares and such. iiiihhhhhhh..... gerigitan oooooo!!!!! buduuuuuuuhhhhh betul!!!! and that "guy" is not even a UMS staff. he's actually from the company who was doing the human resource system for them. hmm... from what i've heard, this company has promised to get the system ready by Dec last year... now it's already into the middle of the year and they sain "bayang-bayang pun belum nampak lagi". tu laaa... kena buduh sajaaaa... i mean i dont really care who kena buduh by whom as long as they dont drag us along with them into all this mess.

i really thought yesterday was the end of it - but i was wrong. now, i hv a feeling that today was also not the end of it!

i'm getting exhausted dealing with these people. and i'm also scared i might get infected like mrbadak said :-( but dont worry, i hv applied all the necessary "patches" to myself so that i wont be infected with this "virus"... heheheheh...

Working With Idiots Can Kill You

today, my day was filled with stupid people.

there were these people at the human resource dept who actually thought that IP address "transmit" virus(es). well, in a way, IP address does "transmit" virus(es) but the way they said it was as if the IP address was the cause of the virus. some human resource personel (who thought they were smart) called in to complain on why the lotus notes server is down - but actually it's not. there's no problem with the server but they keep complaining. they said all of them couldnt access the server and konon "menyebabkan kami semua tiada semangat mau kerja". and then, after we keep saying that there's nothing wrong with the server, they go "internet pun kami tidak dapat"... see... i told you they are stupid! of course if you couldnt get the internet, there must be something wrong with your network connection and that's why you couldnt access the lotus notes server. then they get "stupider". my colleague asked them to check their IP address..

colleague : cuba check IP address
stupid personel : ok, 10 dot 4 dot 3...
colleague : eh, mana ada range IP yg start 10.4.3... 10.4.2 laaa
stupid personel : ooo... si *polan kasi tukar
colleague : laaa... padanlaa tak dapat internet, range IP tu tak wujud lagi... tukar balik IP lama

but the stupid personel still didnt get it. she called back and this time she ask the even more stupid guy to talk to us. kah kunun mcm that guy is the smartest person in the whole universe la...

stupid guy : IP lama tu tak boleh pakai laa sbb ada virus. sbb tu la kami minta range ip yg baru

WHAT???!!! wei brader... even if you change your ip address, if you dont keep your antivirus up to date, still kena one maaaaa... changing ip wont solve anything! IDIOT!

that happened in the morning. in the afternoon, there was another stupid story but i kinda lazy to blog about it. let's just say that some engineer (who also thought he was the smartest person on earth) gave me the wrong information on which data folder to copy. we went to JPPS and we're supposed to replicate something to the server but guess what, there's nothing to be replicated bcos the folder contains no data! only the system's design! and the the engineer was blaming me some more.

me : ko bilang ini satu folder saja
stupid engineer : ya lah. semua ada sana tu
me : tapi ko nampak ni kosong kan?
stupid engineer : ada tu
me : ya tapi skarang kosong kan? ko tidak save tu data dalam ni folder kan?
stupid engineer : save! sia save bah... di ofis sia buka, ada bah semua tu data
me : ya tapi itu data yg di luar dari ni folder
stupid engineer : tidak paham

of course u dont understand coz u're stupid! wasted my time! erghhhhhhh!!!! i hate stupid people who wouldnt admit they're wrong!

and then, there's also this lecturer (who has a PhD in engineering) who forgot his e-mail's password even though he had only changed it in less than half an hour before.

*sigh*

i wonder why there are so many of them (stupid people) here. i thought we're supposed to hv geniuses around here?

a quick update

i just woke-up. i knoww.... it's 9:00 PM but yes... just woke-up... *yawn*

i dunno but i've been having this terrible throbbing headache for the past 3-4 days (and NO it's not morning sickness, thank you). maybe caused by the lack of sleep since lately, Ellone keep getting up in the middle of the night for feeding. one of my friend suggested that maybe it's migrain but i'm not sure... never had migrain before so... i'm not sure. perhaps my blood pressure is low... or perhaps my sugar level is low... huhh... perhaps, perhaps, perhaps... :-) when i stand up (from sitting position), i'll feel dizzy and feel like fainting, so bad i had to hold on to something.. but NO i dont feel like throwing up, thank you...

or maybe it's bcos my pc (at the office) was hit by virus(es). *sigh* again... we were hit by some kind of virus that we dont know anything about. and this time, i'm not that lucky... pc got infected... :-( it's like a cross between blaster and sasser. pc keeps restarting after 60 seconds and it also jammed the network. my kaspersky detected it as net-worm.win32.padobot.z (sometimes it's .gen) but when i tried the provided solution, it doesnt work... i downloaded all the available patches, patch my windows, run the trendmicro sysclean but still, it doesnt work... i even reinstall windows yesterday bcos my explorer.exe was corrupted... :-( if possible, i dont want to re-format my hdd again coz... i hate to back-up all my things - coz it's a lot. the last time i re-format, i forgot to back-up all the fonts... hmpphhhh....

oh, and today... we went to collect the S&P agreement (for the apartment) and we were given free drinks. now i'm not talking about a few bottles of free drinks here, i'm talking about 10 cartons of Drinking Water and 15 cartons of Soft Drinks courtesy of KK Drinks Sdn Bhd.

wahhhh... luckily we hv my dad's Toyota Hilux right now... so, anyone up for a free drink?

mrbadak was supposed to come to my office to see my immediate boss... heheheh... i'm nervous :-P aiya... my place is a mess... malu laaaa... be warned aaa... i dont look anything like my photo tau!

A Lazy Monday Afternoon

today indeed is a lazy monday

yesterday was labor day but since yesterday happened to be a sunday, today is officially observed as the holiday.

i'm kind of having a mental block right now... what do i write??? hmmm... guess a little update on what's been happening since i last blogged.

ok, my last entry was last thursday... the one i sent via e-mail and via mobile phone. so strange, i've received delivery failure reports saying that i'm sending a spam mail but then, the entries were successfully published so... i just ignored those delivery failure thingy.

let's see... what did i do on friday? oya, we had this meeting with the K*EKAUMAS (K*esatuan K*akitangan A*m). :-P i (personally) think that it's just a waste of time and i (personally) think i "dislike" the exco(s). memperjuangkan nasib kakitangan sokongan? bullsh*t! eksyen saja lebih :-P okay, we did tell them about the problems we faced e.g not enough staff and all and kunun the exco looks very concerned and promised us that they'll bring this to the upper management. let's see if they can/will really do that. i (personally) think the exco(s) are in the union just for their personal interests. oops... i'm sorry if any of you exco(s) happened to read this, no offense, but this is exactly what i feel. but then again, i'm not sure if they're IT literate enough to "bloghop" :-D hehehehh... bad mimi, BAD MIMI! but really... my colleagues said most of the exco(s) "nampak tak cerdik" heheh... that's her exact words.

ok, enough about that, otherwise somebody will seriously get in trouble

on saturday, UMS had this procession in conjunction with the Maulidur-Rasul celebration. actually, non-muslims are not compulsory to take part but we did - for the free baju kurung hehehehehhhehh and selendang hehehehheheh. i mean, come on... who wouldnt want free (new) clothes??? last year our theme color was light blue, this year is supposed to be yellow, but i think it looks more like light brown... ahh... anyway, dont want to do a lot of complaining - as long as it's free, everything is beautiful... heheheh... like food also maahhh... all are tasty, especially if it's free! and i think this year's seamstress did a better job than the one last year. i'm really happy abt the new baju kurung (and selendang) but y'know, it's been very hot and dry lately - and by very hot i mean VERY HOT - so, i got sunburnt eventhough i did use sunscreen... wahhhh... i got all pink... VERY PINK even the cashier at M*aju Cafe told me "wah... pinknya kakak" :-P and now i look dark brown. reallyyyy... not only dark, but brown! Uwaaaa.... this year was the first time i manage to get my skin to be a bit fairer, now it's all ruined!!! now i'm back to the old dark me... :-( tsk... tskkk....

hehehehh... i'm so excited i hv to blog abt this

a workshop on video production by FINAS is currently on going and our department, being the multimedia department was selected to be the venue for this workshop. today, they're shooting a short movie and for one of the scenes, they need some (extra) actors and actresses. of course we (my colleagues & i) volunteered. bila lagi mo jadi bintang filem... hehehehh... u just hv to start somewhere, y'know...

it was just a short scene, where two people were waiting in front of the elevator as the numbers changed from 6 to 5 to 4 and to 3 (we're at level 3) and then another 3 people arrived, and then the elevator opened and two people stepped out and the others go in. the scene is only about 2 - 3 minutes, depends on the elevator, but believe me, it takes us 7 shots! i was one of the first 2 (who was waiting in front of the elevator).

first and foremost, we did a rehearsal. the director said it was okay, except that we need to be closer to the elevator. so, ok, the real shoots took place. y'know what? i was so silly coz i get all nervous. i was just afraid i might giggle or worst still - laugh - in front of the camera. hv to take a deep breath before the director says "action!" ok, it works and i thought all was ok. but then, the director was not that satisfied so we had to do it all over again. this time, i borrowed my colleague's handbag so that it looks more realistic. and plus, standing there, in front of the camera without anything to hold makes me feel all weird. ok, the elevator's coming, and then when it opened, instead of two people stepping out, there are 4 of them so we cant help but let out an "eiiii..." silly! director said "cut!" hehehehhh... that's the 2nd shot.

again.... in front of the elevator... the elevator came... suddenly "cut! Boom nampak!" - the mic man held the mic so low it entered the screen... oh dear... that was the 3rd shot. and then, start all over again, by this time, i was getting a bit relaxed. ok, the elevator is at the 4th floor, the director said, "action!" but then the elevator went to the 5th floor. "aiyaaa.... cut!" start all over again... i'm getting tired. hmmm... that was the 4th shot... and then this time, all of us are determined to give the best - so that we can go back to work. ok, "roll camera, action!" all was silent, suddenly "kok-kok-koooooo-kok", "CUT!!!" yerrrr.... somebody forgot to put their cellphone to silent mode, and the rooster ringtone is so not cool... huh... i can't believe it! that was the 5th shot!

now on to the 6th shot! everything went well and as soon as we stepped in the elevator and the door closed, all of us released a (very) loud laugh - reliefed that finally we manage to make a good shot! but hold it! that was only the 6th shot. we were told that when they played back the shot, the laugh (inside the elevator) can actually be heard! arghhhh!!!! by this time, i decided that i hate acting! it was fun though... so the 7th shot, it was all good! i feel euphoric but i dont think acting is for me.

so... that's all... clap! clap! clap!

Virus Outbreak???

something weird happened yesterday

as soon as i got to the office, one of my lady officer said that there's something wrong with her pc - hang, but she said she didnt want to do anything coz it's a MIMOS pc and we decided to wait for MIMOS technician to arrive. but then, another officer said that his pc is also having the same problem... then another one... then another... and by this time, the MIMOS technicians has arrived and their pc also hv the exact same problem. wahhh... this is baddd... really baddd... maybe virus. and then "truttt-trutttt", "kring-kring", "trrrrtt-trrrttt" - suddenly, all the phones were ringing and all reported the same problem that my colleagues hv... and i dunno but maybe it's just a coincidence, all pc were of MIMOS brand so we thought, maybe there's something wrong with MIMOS brand pc... but then, come to think of it, I AM using a MIMOS pc and i dont hv that problem... and mine was up since the day before yesterday - bcos i forgot to shut it down hehehehhh... and dzulfatah (one of our technicians) also using MIMOS pc and he also doesnt hv problems. and not long after that, some compaq pc in out training room also got this problem.

so, the first thing we did was checked trendmicro's website - to see whether there's a new outbreak but... NONE! and then symantec - also NONE! and then visit Microsoft - NONE! checked the other antivirus websites that we could think of, NONE fits the symptoms. tried to visit Jaring's website - down. hmmm... wonder what's really happening...

then, David of ITH came and we told him about this. normally, he'd hv info on latest virus outbreak coz he has his "resources" but then, he said he's also not aware of this and promise that he'll check with his "resources". after a few minutes, he said "Red Alert! New virus outbreak but still under investigation. seems to be affecting PCs with Windows XP SP 2. so far, Windows 98s are safe" waaahhh... apa lagi we all... kelam-kabut mengarang "Virus Allert Notice" bcos we couldnt use e-mail, so we faxed a hard copy announcement to all department/schools/units/institutes. hopefully they can put it up on their noticeboard as soon as possible. since we dont know anything about this virus yet, the best advie we can give them is to unplug their network cable - even though i'm sure all the "cerdik-pandai" (extra-smart) people out there are stubborn and wouldnt even pay attention to such notice. and then, when they get infected, they'll be blaming us! arghhhhh!!! it's so hard to work with this kind of people!

by the way, was there really a virus outbreak??? if so, then how come right until this minute, there are still no info available from any website??? if there's really a major virus attack, it would be all over the news by now so... any idea???

finished my work so i'm free for a while

wanted to post some photos taken with my phone camera but i forgot to bring the data cable so, maybe 2nite lah.

y'know what? i almost give up on my phone (its a Samsung SGH-E630C), almost traded it in with the new Samsung SGH-D500 bcos, ok, my phone comes with a camera and i've been taking a lot of picture but the thing is, i couldnt transfer the pictures anywhere. my phone's infra-red couldnt communicate with other phones and eventhough my pc can detect my phone (oya, we even bought the infra-red thingy for our pc), i wasnt able to transfer anything, pc to phone or phone to pc. been looking everywhere for the cable link but couldnt find any. and my phone also has a melody composer but i dunno how to use it. but at last, i found the cable link at Izzacom (Wisma Merdeka) and it cost me 80 bucks. i dont care, better than trading the phone in and having to add another 1000++ for a new phone.

oya, actually today i wanted to blog about ellone

she loves nursery rhymes and i think she's learning to talk (so early??? hehehhh)

i bought a few nursery rhymes books and for the past two weeks, i've been singing them to her at night, before she sleeps. and guess what? she sings along! her favorites are Mary Had A Little Lamb, Baa Baa Black Sheep and London Bridge.

y'know what? right now, i'm on the verge of banging my head to the wall. arghhh!!! i've squeezed my brain juice dry trying to figure out a solution to this job i'm currently doing. have i mentioned that i'm maintaining a human resource system that has actually gone haywire? thanks to the previous programmer(s), they did a great job f**king up this HRM system. can u imagine? what kind of programmer would name fields like "untitled", "untitled1","untitled2", "untitled_1_1" and God knows how many more untitled fields in there. and poor me, hv to clean up before those stupid people! this is insulting to programmers like *ehem* me. if they called themselves "computer programmers", then they should've known that they CANNOT name any field as UNTITLED. Hey you previous programmer(s) to UMS HRM System, you should be ashamed of yourself!

and the user(s), being the very UN-TECHNICAL & UN-IT LITERATE people on the face of earth, keeps asking me to create something very emm... advanced with the system - usually something to do with connecting two different databases. Cakap sinang laaa... the problem with this equally stupid people was that they just dont understand just how messed up the system already is and the things they're asking are almost imposibble. but luckily they hv someone like *ehem* me yg mempunyai tahap kesabaran melebihi manusia biasa :-P actually, it can be done. after spending more than 5 yrs in this industry, i've come to learn that there's always a solution to a problem (comp. programming related) as long as it is logical and it really helps to hv a proper naming convention and proper documentations.

ok, at the very moment, i'm test-running my codings... looks ok...so far so good... YESSSS!!! IT WORKS!!!! lala lalala lala la la la..... Yayyy!!!! ok now, time to work on the cosmetic side...

my 2 months maternity leave has finally come to an end and i am back to work. first day at work, switched on my pc and confidently clicked on internet explorer... i was greeted by the dns error page. ok... and i clicked on control panel, clicked on network connection and there's nothing there. so, i was like "eh? where's my local area connection?" ok... and then i right-clicked on my computer, clicked on properties, clicked on hardware, then device manager and "aik??? no network adapter???" ishhh... cannot be... so, i did whatever i think i should do - being the IT personel i am - nothing worked. finally, i had to make a report to the technician. the pc i'm using at work is actually one of the pc leased by M***S so, if there's anything wrong with the pc, we're not supposed to fix them eventhough we know how. must report to their technician and wait for them. but there are only three of them and they're taking care of the whole UMS so, i just got to be patient. to cut my story short, my pc was finally working after 3 days bcos eventhough the network card driver was already installed, i still wasnt able to access the internet > technician said hv to format the pc so backup all your important files/data > wanted to backup all the files/data i needed to cd but no nero > installed nero but still cd-writer not working > figured out that cd-writer is not working :-P bcos wrong driver > no choice hv to backup to D:\ > technician formatted pc and everything looks ok > suddenly, network adapter disappeared again > made another report > technician changed network card > done! phew!!! and all that took three days.

update no. 2
on a happy note, guess who bought a new apartment??? :-D hehehehhhh... yes!!! u guessed right! WE BOUGHT AN APARTMENT!! of course it is still under construction and will only be completed on Dec 2007. please be reminded, apartments are not condos but also, not flats. it's actually just a small apartment with three bedrooms and two bathrooms but that's just what we need for our small family. the apartments are developed by Wong Kwok Group and in Sabah, if it's developed by Wong Kwok Group, then it's one of the best!

Why did we choose that apartment and not others like Beverly Hills Apartments (yes, we hv beverly hills in KK), City Apartments, Melinsung Summer Bay or Country Heights? Bcos, University Apartments has the most strategic location in KK. it's only about 3 minutes drive from UMS - the place where i work, the federal house beside UMS is almost completed, beside the apartment is the proposed site for the new Tshung Tsin High School - where i intended to send Ellone for high school, but of course she will have the rights to choose which school she likes, i heard the one borneo hyper mall is going to be build somewhere near the place, etc etc. i can foresee that in five years time, this area is going to be one of the busiest section of KK. anyway, say later we decided that we dont really like living there, we can always move back to jnr's house in penampang and just rent out the apartment. over the years, i've come to learn that buying properties is never a waste bcos the value increase over time; unlike cars > value decrease.

update no. 3
let's have a short update on elaine's wedding. both church ceremony and reception went well, both bride and groom (and even the moms) look stunningly beautiful/handsome. they're really a lovely couple, too bad i dont have their photos. i'll post one as soon as i get a copy. jnr was really good at being the wedding cordinator; maybe we should consider ding business as a wedding planner hehehehhh... but seriously, i think it's a good idea. elaine even mentioned jnr's name and thanked him during her impromptu speech at the reception. she looked pretty nervous, thanking all guests for coming, thanking all relatives for lending a helping hand on her big day and keep apologizing for being late :-) reminds me of our wedding reception, jnr delivered a speech and even though he has prepared the text, i really think he's forgotten to thank his mom :-)

i hv finally found a place to host my website. Yippee!!! why am i so happy? bcos it's so cheap! i only paid RM40(domain) + RM45(hosting)= RM85 (USD$11 ++) for one year!!! yayyyyy!!! where? visit AnjungCafe.

so guys, if you can excuse me, i gotta go, i have a lot of unpacking to do - now that i'm moving to a new place! see y'all in a few days!

went to take family photos at nita (my aunt) today. our very first family photo... did i mention that i've straightened my hair? looks better that way - i mean my hair. easy to manage, i dont have to brush/comb them, just run my fingers through and they'll be in place. i'll be going back to work starting monday and i dont think i'll hv enough time to do anything with my hair, y'know, now that i hv ellone.

we're going to hv a bz weekend this week bcos jnr's cousin (elaine) is getting married. among all the first cousins, jnr's the eldest and the 1st one to get married. elaine's the second one and jnr unofficially appointed as the "wedding planner" *lol* just bcos we've been there before - at least we already know what to do, who's doing what and etc - especially for the church ceremony. so... yeah... jnr will be bz with all that and i'll be bz attending ellone.

seeing somebody getting married reminds me of our wedding. ours was not a perfect wedding but of course it's the best day of my life! since i came from a different town, we had two receptions; one at tambunan (my hometown) and one in KK. i guess i'm lucky bcos my father is so used to organising big functions/events so, not much of a headache there. but during the reception in KK, we had a huge headache! our guests overshoot the 800 seatings that we've allocated - we need at least another 20 tables (10 seatings each) but we cant coz the ballroom can only accomodate 85 tables the most. so, what we did was, we add in another 5 tables and we add extra two seatings for each tables - 12 seatings per table. that solved the problem but then, another big headache on arranging the seatings, who sits with who and who cant be on the same table with who and so on. and we were even late for the reception, guests are already waiting. anyway, at the end of the day... all is well and i'm just glad it's over.
