Twilight and I

Sorry Bee, but I blame it on you! It's all your fault that I'm now (truly, madly, deeply) in love with Edward Cullen! Would you like to know why? Bah, let me explain aa...

Since I finished reading The Last Lecture by Randy Pausch about two weeks ago, I was looking for good books to read next. Tried reading Nowhere to Run by Judy Westwater but it keeps reminding me of The Kitchen God's Wife by Amy Tan. The story line is so similar I stop reading after a few chapters.

Bee's blog is one of my daily doses and I noticed the books in her Recently Read section; the Twilight Saga - all 4 of them and i thought to myself, this book must be great, otherwise, Bee won't waste her time reading all of them. I also heard in the radio that the Twilight movie is going to be released on November 21st. The news about the movie added to my curiousity so, I bought 2 of the books - Twilight and New Moon.

Since I don't have much time to read, I only read 2 chapters at first. During the 1st 2 chaps, i thought it was quite boring. Then, I guess Bee saw that I was reading Twilight, she left a comment about it and ask me whether i found Edward Cullen a dream guy material. I couldn't really answer at first coz i haven't actually 'seen' the real Edward Cullen. I continued reading the book and i found that the story gets better and better. I'm beginning to see Edward the charmer, dazzling Bella in every ways. But after chap 4, i had to stop because it is weekdays and i had to go to work in the morning. Continued again on Saturday night and that's when i got hooked with the book. I couldn't put the book down and I only finished reading at 4:00 a.m! Btw, the book is very thick, almost 600 pages.

By the time I finished Twilight, I was so obsessed with it that I went and watched all the trailers available in youtube, going 'ooh' and 'aaaahh' at all the previews! couldn't wait for the movie to be released. i even fell in love with the Bella's Lullaby - well, i don't really know if it's the official lullaby, but most of the 'youtubers' said so.

Talking about the casts of Twilight (the movie of course), my personal opinion, some of them doesn't really fit with the character. I have no problem with Bella, but for others, especially Edward (sorry Bee), Rosalie, Alice and Jasper, i was a bit disappointed. perhaps it's to early to judge but I was hoping Edward would be a bit more muscular, with a darker [personality] and more mysterious personality. Rosalie should be more beautiful. but then again, i couldn't think of anybody else better for those parts. Alice... i keep picturing Brea Grant (Daphne of Heroes) without the black hair when i was reading Twilight. I pictured Jasper to have a tougher look, but no, he looked soft. Doesn't really look like he's having trouble with his diet. Oh, but I like James! i think the character fit James perfectly!

Last night i started on New Moon. Bee suggested that I read Midnight Sun first, but I haven't printed it yet. I read until 2:00 a.m but i was only up to chapter 15. I don't want to stop, but it's already monday and i have to go to work in 6 hrs time so, i cheated. I read the Epilogue and only by 2:30 a.m, i can sleep in peace.

For 2 days in a row, i slept at almost 'twilight' and I didn't use a reading light i'm afraid i might woke the kids up. what i did was, i switched on the TV with the volume down and it was bright enough for me to read with ease. i know it's not good for my eyes and if i keep doing that, i might need glasses very soon.

If i ever need glasses, I might consider buying them online. ZenniOptical.com sells eyeglasses online at a low price - as low as $8.00 per pair - and they shipped anywhere in the world. They had a wide range of lenses and frames for me to choose from. i already had an eye for one or two frames but i guess I don't need them. Yet. When i first saw the price, i was a bit curious on why they are selling so cheap. Then i found out that they manufacture their own frames and sells them directly to customers. They actually saved on middlemen and advertising budget! Smart aren't they?

There's also an article from The Chicago Tribune that talks about why some glasses are sold at a very cheap price. It's a very good and informative article.

When I die...

my kids [including my niece] have been watching Kungfu Panda everyday for the past one month or so. sometimes, they watched it like 4-5 times a day they can even memorize the dialogues already. it doesn't bother me much though, coz when Kungfu Panda is on, all of them would sit down and behave so i can do whatever i want in peace.

talking about Kungfu Panda, there's this one scene where Master Oogway 'died' and disappeared amidst the swirling cherry blossoms.

this scene has somehow put the idea into Ellone's head that when ppl die, they'll turn into something else. [she thought Master Oogway died and turn into flowers].

for three days now, she keeps on asking me either this question "Mommy, nanti Ellone MATI, Ellone jadi apa?" or this question "Mommy, when Ellone DIE, Ellone become what?". Of course it's the same question lah but it bothered me so much now because it has been three days. this morning, on my way to send her to school, she popped the question again! Everytime she asked me, i would tell her that if she's a good girl, she would become an angel. If she's not, she would become nothing. This morning, i also added that it is not good to ask that kind of question. Luckily she didn't ask why.

Is this something that I should be worried about? I hope not.

My 7 Dream Cars

everythime when i was doing a meme, i couldn't help but wonder who started them, but i never had the time to trace the origin of a certain meme. this morning, i decided to trace the origin of the handbag meme and i found out that it was started by a person by the name Mimi! What a coincidence!

And since I'm also a Mimi, I'm going to make/start a meme too.

What is it with Magibon?

2 days later and i'm still on online videos but this time around, the fascination is mainly about Magibon!

some of you might already know but i know most of you are now wondering, what the heck is Magibon? well, 1st and foremost, Magibon is not a thing, Magibon is a person and a very adorable anime-like girl.

she has her own channel at youtube and almost all of her videos has 2 million hits! isn't that crazy???

the weird part is, she only posted 30-40 secs videos of herself doing nothing but staring into the camera with her BIG anime eyes, smiling, wave and then do the peace sign. sometimes she will speak a little japanese with her anime squeaky voice.

seriously, i don't get it!

all the guys go crazy over her. some were so irritated they made spoofs using her videos.
